So far it’s been a month since my blade was received. I there has been no other communication. I have no idea if I’m ever going to get my blade back. I am not sure this store is even still active I would not recommend sending a blade here, unless you first have direct communication with Jarod.

I don’t write reviews of a product or business unless I am really impressed. I sent several machetes to Mr. Todd to be heat treated and surface ground. He quickly answered all my questions before I sent them in and also when they were being processed. When I got the blades back they were perfect…just what I was after. I have used the other 2 “older” heat treat companies before. However, Mr. Todd is far and away the top service.

I've received a few plasma cutting and HT orders from Jarod so far, all of which have turned out great. In the short time I've used Jarod's services, he has been responsive to questions and concerns and has made changes to his website and shipping process to better accommodate cross border shipping to Canada. I heartily recommend Jarod's services.

So far I have sent around 15 blades to Jarod to heat treat and will continue to do so for types of steel that I am not comfortable doing myself. He is always prompt and within the time period noted at the time of order. Each blank I have relieved back is done heat treated professionally and with a personal touch. Cannot recommend JT enough.

I am a hobbyist bladesmith. I wanted to use better steels but complex heat treat wasn't doable at home. Jarod provides a very high quality level of heat treatment. He sent them back well packages with a little card with the H.R.C. for each type of steel. I'm so thrilled with them, thank you Jarod!

I started making knives professionally in 2019, and after many recommendations, decided to use Jarod for heat treating. At this point I've had close to 50 blades treated by him, and will continue to do so. He's been easy to talk to, helpful, and has gone the extra mile for me several times. Another reviewer mentioned the price seeming steep at first (though worth it), but if you do a little shopping around, I think the prices are very fair, particularly for the ease and convenience of being able to have a one stop shop for cutting and heat treating. I've been very happy with the service provided, and want to make a special note of how well blades are packaged upon return; each blade is wrapped individually. I plan on continuing to do a great deal of business with Jarod, and can heartily recommend him to others. If you're here on this site, don't bother looking around elsewhere!

I ordered some 15N20 and got exactly what was promised. Great service and will use JT again when needed.

Jarod & Heather are the blank processing dynamic duo. I sent a batch of 10 blanks to be heat treated, and surface ground to them and the turn around time was amazing. I am a bit of a newb when it comes to knife making and sending in plans to be plasma cut. Jarod was patient, informative and helpful. He did an excellent job on the blanks and HT that he did for me. I am incredibly happy with my blanks. I would order again from him in a heartbeat.

Sent a couple of AEBL blade blanks to JT they did a phenomenal job on them. All were packed up nicely and shipped quickly. They have earned my business.

Sent 16 blanks, AEB-L, S35VN and Alabama Damascus.
Came home to me in straight and well surfaced condition at the specified HRC.
All the blades were carefully and individually wrapped.
We spent considerable time texting with pictures. Thank you for that JT!
I have already contacted him about the next batch. If anyone reads my review and have not tried his services, do so and you will be very pleased.

I've used three other heat treating services and Jarod excels where the others fall short 1) Communication. I get invoiced quickly, he answers questions in a timely manner, hardness values are indicated in the invoice. With another service, my blades were there for more than 4 months and it took emails/phone calls over and over to get them back; 2) Good prices for low quantities. This is great for the smaller/hobby maker who just doesn't make the volume to get that nice price at the bigger places; 3) extra services. Again, as a hobby maker being able to get surface grinding is a big plus. I have not tried out the new plasma cutting service yet, but will; 4) doing something when things don't go right. There has been a problem with bad 1084 out of ebay. I got bit by this but was using another heat treater at the time. When I got them back, they weren't hard, but the company hadn't said a word, they just shoved them out the door. I read about Jarod's experience with the suspect 1084 on the forums. This brings up another reason why I like supporting JT and that his is involvement in the community. He is an active member of blade forums and willingly shares information there.

I've had several small AEB-L blades I've sent to JT for heat treat and they've turned out excellent both times. He's prompt with messages and his service is excellent.
